Aika Rey is a journalist who spends most of her time writing about budget, transportation, and development issues on Rappler.

Before joining the media, she was a research intern at the Bangsamoro Office of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Political Science from Ateneo de Manila University and took courses in European Law at the Faculté Libre de Droit and Literature in Faculté Libres des Lettres et Sciences Humaines in Lille, France.

In 2017, she was awarded a road safety leadership fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University in the United States.

When she's not writing, she takes her time off visiting art galleries, practicing her French, and immersing in communities.
