Jane Bracher

Jane covers college and professional basketball, volleyball, the national teams, even the occasional football and mixed martial arts, and everything in between for Rappler Sports.

Currently, her primary focus is on Gilas Pilipinas, the PBA, collegiate basketball (UAAP, NCAA) and collegiate volleyball (UAAP, V-League).

Jane has been covering sports for nearly 3 years now. Among the special events she covered include the NBA Global Games, UFC Fight Night in Manila, as well as NBA players who visited Manila such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Paul George, James Harden, among others.

She participated in Rappler's extensive coverage of Pope Francis' Manila visit in January 2015. Jane is also proud to have covered Tim Cone's second PBA Grand Slam season from 2013 to 2014.

Jane's favorite sports stories are the human ones. It's those real life stories of struggle, failure, breakthrough and success that make her want to keep writing despite the difficulties of the daily grind.

For every sports story, her goal is to write about and give justice to the athletes who go above and beyond human limitations to touch greatness – in the hope that those stories will inspire the rest of us to do the same.

A graduate of University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts, Jane is big on a well-packaged story that includes words, photos and videos. She not only writes, she shoots photos and videos as well.

Jane is a huge music geek. She also loves film, cartoons, books, art, history, adventure, and solo living room dance parties.
