Katerina Francisco

Katerina is primarily a writer, but she dabbles in (a lot of) other things.

When she's not writing stories for Rappler, she likes to hit the streets with camera in hand. She feels strongly about heritage and culture, human rights and gender issues, and ideas that could change the world.

She graduated cum laude from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Communication and a minor in Japanese Studies. She was the news editor of college publication The GUIDON, and got her first taste of cross-border journalism during an internship in the Netherlands in 2011.

She loves reading books, traveling and mostly getting lost, and preaching the merits of the Oxford comma.

Before joining Rappler's research and investigative team, she was a reporter on the metro beat and a writer on the production team.
