Raisa Serafica

Raisa finds fulfillment in hard work, and finds peace in music.

As a student, she juggled an array of jobs: working in a fastfood chain, serving as a student assistant, teaching Korean students, transcribing interviews, and writing articles for online content.

A month before she graduated, she entered Rappler as a researcher/writer for #BudgetWatch. She covered budget deliberations, mined data on national budget, and wrote stories on good governance and accountability.

Currently, Raisa is the social media producer of MovePH, Rappler’s advocacy platform and civic engagement arm. She also manages its core movers and volunteers who want to help change the world.

She has always been fond of the Beatles but many of her favored tracks are local. Gary Granada, Joey Ayala, Up Dharma Down, Johnoy Danao, and Ebe Dancel are just some of her staple tunes.

She believes in the power of the masses and knows that with everyone fighting for a better world, nothing will be unattainable.
