Ralf Rivas



Ralf writes about macroeconomy, finance, banks, utilities, and conglomerates for Rappler.

He has a degree in Sociology from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Landing a job in market research was initially his career goal, until he chanced upon a classified ad of IBC 13.

Ralf covered politics and disaster for the state-controlled network, and was eventually cast as a news anchor at PTV 4.

He jumped to GMA 7 and worked as a segment producer for almost 5 years. He produced investigative stories, explainers, and features for News to Go, Unang Hirit, and State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.

He gained business reporting experience in Bloomberg TV Philippines, and wrote about the stock market and corporate news.

Ralf occasionally plays ultimate frisbee and watches movies on weekends.
