MANILA, Philippines – Dear moms and dads, how was 2014 for your family? If you were asked to draw up a list, would you be able to fill up a page with a year’s worth of lessons and milestones?
Before the year winds down, we usually do conversations that look back on our individual achievements for the past 365 days. But this time, we’d like to zoom in the conversation towards the house, and how you turned it into a home for your family.
In tallying our parenting achievements, we often look to big things like sending our children to good schools, bringing them to exciting trips, or surprising them on special occasions. But in fact, it’s the little daily decisions that truly take pro-level parenting skills: things like giving their fave toys a fresh bath, or letting them cozy up to soft, fresh-smelling sheets on cold nights. These seemingly small acts bring love and warmth to the home, all year long.
The moment anyone becomes a mom or a dad, all of his or her dreams, aspirations, and choices become affected by it. Family definitely becomes a priority. The notion of “keeping house”evolves from something practical to something emotional and magical. Isn’t all that worthy of being celebrated this season?
So on December 29, take a break, sit down and tell us: For 2014, what steps did you take to bring in more love and magic to your space? Share your best home-based tips and hacks, and tell us what you want to be better at in 2015.
Downy Philippines will be providing gift packs to the 10 best answers that we will receive. We will announce the winners on the week of January 5, 2015.
