MANILA, Philippines – There’s something new to look forward to on your next mall trip!
SM Supermalls and international electronics brand LG team up for the first leg of “Home of Global Brands,” a nationwide campaign by SM to bring mallgoers new and fun experiences with some of the world’s best-known brands.
The partnership kicked off last May 6, 3 pm, at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium.
Host Janeena Chan introduced Ikwun Heo, Managing Director of LG Philippines; Jay Won, VP for Mobile Communications of LG Philippines, and Jonjon San Agustin, SVP for Marketing of SM Supermalls.
“We at SM take pride in teaming up with LG as they reintroduce today their premium product line in a world-class exhibit of the LG Smart Home,” said Jonjon.
The partnership is fitting – LG is recognized in over 50 countries across the globe for their consumer electronics and home appliances, and SM is well-loved for bringing new experiences closer to Filipinos in 60 SM malls nationwide.
Up-and-coming star Lauren Reid was also introduced as the latest LG mobile ambassador.
“I feel honored to be representing LG’s flagship mobile, G6. This phone has been respected throughout the tech expert industry and it’s something that I’m happy to represent,” Lauren said.
The LG G6 is perfect for the social media-loving millennial. The one-hand smartphone boasts of a dual wide-angle camera, a 360° panorama feature, and most importantly, waterproof capabilities – just the thing for pool and beachside outings this summer.
Lauren added, “The square camera is also gonna take my Instagram game to the next level!”
Aside from their flagship phone, the LG exhibit presented the brand’s premium home product line. This included the Dolby Vision-equipped LG OLED TV 4K and other innovative home appliances such as the Smart Refrigerators, Smart Air Conditioners, and Smart Washers.
This partnership is just the first of a nationwide campaign which will last until December this year.
“With an average foot traffic of 3 and a half million daily and a year-long calendar of nonstop family fun events, we at the SM Supermalls are thrilled that some of the world’s best consumer brands collaborate with us – choosing our malls… to better reach their customers. We are inviting the whole family to visit their favorite SM malls from May to December to experience the world of SM, Home of the Global Brands,” Jonjon said.
Each month, various brands – ranging from automobiles, gadgets, confectionaries, personal accessories – will take the stage, providing new and innovative product launches, activations, promotions, and fun events for mallgoers to enjoy.
Jonjon shared that they wanted to partner with 9 brands for mutually beneficial activations, and spread it in more malls than usual. For this partnership, they are targeting a minimum of 30 malls.
“It’s something that allows more of our customers to experience these kinds of exhibits. SM has been very open to partnering with brands in order to give the Filipino people much better customer experiences,” Jonjon said. – Rappler.com
