Youth Congress on Information Technology is back
This is a press release from Youth Congress on Information Technology.
MANILA, Philippines – Are you a techie?
The country's biggest information technology event is ready to soar to greater heights as the Youth Congress on Information Technology (Y4iT), organized by the UP System Information Technology Foundation (UPSITF), returns for its 13th year on September 9 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.
Attended by over 25,000 college students, professionals, educators, IT experts and enthusiasts from all over the country, the annual event has consistently served as a melting pot of the best minds in the industry.
The gathering has helped create a bridge for industry leaders and authorities to connect with and inspire the future of IT.
For Microsoft, one of the global tech giants, the event has been instrumental for them in helping the youth. “Y4iT is relevant to Microsoft because it helps converge students in the country in one place, putting Microsoft at ease to help IT students boost and realize their potential throughout the Y4iT event,” said John Paul Sibug, Audience Marketing Manager of Microsoft.
This year, Y4iT returns with the theme, “Y4iT the 13th: Are You Ready?” as it dares the Filipino youth to brave the unknown.
In the dynamic world of IT today, individuals may have the skills and potential needed, but are they confident to take the next step? Y4iT poses this challenge, together with its objective of inspiring the youth and recognizing them as key drivers in the IT industry.
Once again, the 3-day congress is set to offer its participants with only the freshest and hottest topics in IT, while creating a venue to discover and evaluate new technologies, introduce latest breakthroughs, discuss current ICT trends, and even open career opportunities.
Y4iT, formerly known as the Philippine Youth Congress on Information Technology, was established in 2003 and began with only 5,000 attendees at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
With increasing demand through the years, as participants benefit from the congress, Y4iT has gone on to be at the forefront of information technology gathering events in the Philippines. In November 2012, UPSITF held its first Y4iT outside of Luzon, Y4iT Cebu. – Rappler.com
