Down Syndrome forum 'Born This Way' to be held on awareness month
MANILA, Philippines – To mark National Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a discussion called called Born This Way will happen at the Augusto-Rosario Gonzalez Theater, De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde on Saturday, February 27.
The program will be from 9:30 am to 12 nn.
Speakers for the event will include specialists on the issue of Down Syndrome.
The program is a joint project of Best Buddies Philippines, College of Saint Benilde, and Down Syndrome of the Philippines Inc.
Established in 2014, Best Buddies Philippines is a non-government organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program has 50 chapters in the United States, where it was founded in 1989 by Anthony K. Shriver.
Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, meanwhile, was founded in 1991, aiming to support families who have members with Down Syndrome in the Philippines. – Rappler.com
