McDonald's Philippines hiring nearly 20,000 new employees in 2019
This is a press release from McDonald's Philippines.
Coming from a year of bullish growth and expansion, Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald's Philippines) continues to open its doors for young Filipinos to join the company with "Go Hire Day."
Launched last year, "Go Hire Day" transforms select McDonald's restaurants across the country into recruitment hubs where interested service crew and manager trainee applicants may go through a fast-tracked application process.
McDonald's Philippines brings back "Go Hire Day" this February with the following schedule for service crew positions:
- February 20 at McDonald's CB Mall (Urdaneta City, Pangasinan)
- February 21 at McDonald's Alabang (Muntinlupa City)
- February 23 at McDonald's Kapitolyo (Pasig City), McDonald's Sto Tomas (Sto Tomas, Batangas), and McDonald's CDO (Kauswagan Highway, Cagayan de Oro City)
For both service crew positions and manager trainee positions, "Go Hire Day" is scheduled on:
- February 12 at McDonald's San Fernando (San Fernando, Pampanga)
- February 21 at McDonald's PRC (Makati City) and McDonald's Dian (Makati City)
McDonald's Philippines is looking for bachelor's degree holders for its manager trainee positions and currently enrolled senior high school and college students to join its service crew.
In 2018, McDonald's Philippines directly hired over 19,000 Filipinos for its restaurant service crew and manager trainee positions amid the opening of 60 new stores and introduction of its new store format, NXTGEN.
NXTGEN stores are already present in Madison, Kapitolyo, Robinsons Galleria, Market Market, Dian, Telebastagan, Tagaytay Olivarez, Timog Tobias, Rosario La Union, Southwoods, and Boracay Main Road, to name a few.
This year, McDonald's Philippines plans to scale the new store format, marked by its multi-point service platform, self-order kiosks, and unique brand of hospitality, in more stores across the country. While it continues to be a leader in foodservice innovation, the foodservice giant remains committed to boosting local employment and growing its restaurant manpower in 2019.
"It is an exciting time to join McDonald's Philippines as we continue to open more new stores and elevate the customer experience through our unique service. With this, we are bringing back 'Go Hire Day' which would make it more accessible for job-seekers to be part of our growth. This would also be a great opportunity for college students to earn while studying, and for fresh graduates to jumpstart their career with our world-class training," says Chona Torre, Human Capital Group, senior vice president of McDonald's Philippines.
This year, McDonald's Philippines eyes to reach a recruitment target of close to 20,000 service crew and manager trainees as it continues to grow its foothold in the Philippine market and elevate the customer experience with NXTGEN. Since the company opened the first McDonald's restaurant in the country in 1981, it has not practiced contractualization of its employees.
