Buy hard-to-find indie publications at Small Press Expo
MANILA, Philippines — On Saturday, December 14, the Better Living Through Xeroxgraphy (BLTX) will hold its semi-annual small press expo at the Lopez Museum.
The small press expo supports the production and marketing of books, comics, anthologies, zines, and handmade products by young and sort-of-young Filipinos. It features publications that enjoy limited runs, are not published or promoted by mainstream channels, and not sold by major bookstores.
There will be a forum on establishing alternative systems of distribution from 2 to 4pm.
Participants are Gener Pedriña, Gelo Suarez and Donna Miranda, Ardie Aquino, UP Writers Club, Heritage Conservation Society (Youth), UP UGAT, Carameldita, Carlocrazy Clemente, KATAGA QC, Elbert Or, Birdhouse Baker, Staple & Perk, Zigzag Animals, Patrick Rawrr, Rolf Campos, Makoy Dakoykoy & Ungaz Press, Kubori Kiliam, Pulang Lupa Foundation, The Cabinet, Happy Comix & Alternative Print, Kowtow Komiks, Mina Esguerra, Apol Sta. Maria, THE Rob Cham, Moar Books!, Flipside, Paper Monster, Sturnino Bassila, Nine Iron, Mazinger Zine, Pinoy Reads Pinoy Books Book Club, Bomba Press feat. Claire Villacorta, Ricardo A. The event, organised and co-hosted by the Youth & Beauty Brigade, is a whole day affair from 9 am to 5 pm and is open to the public. Admission to the event and forum is free-of-charge.
