MovePH wins Best Social Media Movement in 2014 Globe Tatt Awards

MANILA, Philippines – For its citizen engagement initiatives on various social issues, Rappler's citizen engagement arm MovePH won the Best Social Media Movement Award during the 2014 Globe Tatt Awards on Friday, August 8.
The Best Social Media Movement category is awarded to "a social media account owner or group who launched an online movement working to improve the state of a societal cause in the Philippines."
Among MovePH's initiatives are:
- Project Agos – a disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation platform that harnesses technology to maximize the flow of critical data before, during, and after a disaster.
- #HungerProject – a platform for meaningful discussion and informed action to end hunger.
- #BudgetWatch – a platform for government & concerned citizens to share information and map action points for a transparent & accountable national budget.
Other finalists in the category were Gawad Kalinga, Youth Act Now, Change.org, and Bloggers for ReliefPH. Rappler's TechRap was also a finalist in the Best Tech Blog/ Microblog category.
Now on its third year, the Globe Tatt Awards recognizes individuals who share Tattoo's fiery passion for greatness, founded on individuality and a sincere interest to lead by sharing with others.
