Customs guidelines on clearance of int'l donations during calamities
MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Maysak is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday evening (April 1) or Thursday morning (April 2), according to the latest weather bulletin of state weather bureau PAGASA.
It will be named Typhoon Chedeng once it enters PAR.
As the country prepares for the typhoon, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) released its revised guidelines on international donations during calamities.
These are meant to guide senders and recipients of donated goods from abroad on the procedures needed to be followed to avail of duty and tax exemptions.
