CEBU, Philippines – A Cebu Pacific Air flight bound for Cagayan De Oro turned back 20 minutes after take off from the Mactan-Cebu International airport when it experienced mechanical problems, officials confirmed on Tuesday, January 27.
The plane took off at around 8:21 am, and experienced mechanical trouble at 8:40 am.
All 155 passengers of Flight 5J203 were asked to deplane upon their safe arrival at the Mactan airport, said Estee Marie Plunket, corporate affairs head of GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC).
"Some of the passengers were already accommodated by other airlines while some will be taken cared of by other 5J flights,” Plunket said.
She said that there was no information yet as to the cause of the mechanical problem.
