Gov’t to hold pre-qualification conferences for airport and jail PPPs
MANILA, Philippines – The government has announced pre-qualification conferences for interested bidders for a program to build regional airports and prisons under a public-private partnerships (PPPs) scheme.
The pre-qualification conference for 5 regional airports will be held on April 7 at Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria scheduled for 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The submission of the pre-qualification documents is set for May 18.
The Regional Airport Projects total indicative cost is P108.19 billion ($2.4 billion) and will undergo a dual-stage public bidding process.
The implementing agency, the Department of Transport and Communications (DOTC) will be bidding out the development, operations and maintenance of these airports in 2 bundles.
Bundle 1 is made up of the Bacolod-Silay and Iloilo airports while bundle 2 is composed of Laguindingan, Davao, and Bohol (Panglao) airports.

Meanwhile, the pre-qualification conference for the design, financing, construction, and maintenance of a modern prison facility in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija will be held on April 8.
The total indicative cost of this PPP project is P50.18 billion ($1.1 billion) and the deadline for submission of pre-qualification documents is on May 6.
