The NGCP clarified that power loss in a locality depends on whether the affected transmission facilities are NGCP's or these are distribution facilities of local distribution utilities or electric cooperatives.
“Specific cities and municipalities affected by the power interruptions are determined by concerned distribution utilities, unless the outage affects the entire franchise area,” NGCP said.
In an earlier report, Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla said distribution lines, which source power from transmission lines, are vulnerable to strong winds and rain, and are at high risk under Ruby.
Restoration measures in affected facilities will start as soon as the weather permits. – Rappler.com
