Best actress winners to present at Oscars
LOS ANGELES, USA - Best actress Oscar winners Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will be among the presenters at next week's 85th Academy Awards, organizers said Wednesday, February 13.
The four are the latest addition to the presenting cast at the February 24 show, which already includes former honorees Meryl Streep and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Berry won the award for her performance in "Monster's Ball" (2001), Bullock for 2009's "The Blind Side," Kidman for "The Hours" (2002) and Witherspoon for "Walk the Line" (2005).
Earlier this week the Oscar show's producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced that the stars of "Chicago" will reunite as presenters on the 10th anniversary of the film's Academy Award win for best picture.
Renee Zellweger, Zeta-Jones, Richard Gere and Queen Latifah joined already-announced presenters including "Avengers" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo.
Other presenters already announced include the four winners of the acting prizes at last year's Oscars: Streep, Jean Dujardin, Octavia Spencer and Christopher Plummer.
The 85th Academy Awards, the climax of Hollywood's annual awards season, have a musical theme this year, with highlights set to include Britain's Adele singing Oscar-nominated 007 theme tune "Skyfall."
Dame Shirley Bassey, Norah Jones and Barbra Streisand also will perform. It will be Streisand's first Academy Awards performance since 1977 when she sang the winning song from "A Star Is Born." - Rappler.com
