Jury for Jackson trial chosen
MANILA, Philippines - Lawyers for both sides of Michael Jackson's wrongful death case have selected 6 men and 6 women on April 23 as part of the jury for the trial, reports Rolling Stone.
The 12 were selected from more than 100 candidates based on factors such as their relationship or connection with the Jacksons and AEG (Anschutz Entertainment Group). Potential jurors were asked to fill out questionnaires in order to evaluate their views on Jackson, his family, and the high-profile case.
Eliminated candidates were seen to have bias for or against the parties involved. Others were eliminated due to problems with the expected duration of the trial, which could last for several months.
The case, filed by Michael's mother Katherine Jackson, will tackle whether or not Jackson's promoters should be faulted for Jackson's death due to negligence. - Rappler.com
