MANILA, Philippines - US singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee turns out another swinging ditty that "Marie Claire" anticipates to be this year's "Call Me Maybe."
The song, "American Girl," has just been posted on YouTube.
McKee, 29, is the musician, composer and actress from California who has drawn a lot of buzz, along with the awards, for her classy girl pop. Her co-writing credits include "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry and "Dynamite" by Taio Cruz.
Maura Brannigan of "Marie-Claire" describes her as "the latest" among today's "über-pop darlings," also citing the highly regarded, hyper-eclectic DJ Kalkutta, who calls McKee "pop royalty."
The new video also features the lip-synching participation (and endorsement) of the pop world's haute celeb, including Katy Perry and Taio Cruz, Ke$ha, Carly Rae Jepsen herself of "Call Me Maybe" and Tommy Lee in drag. - Rappler.com
