Pacquiao asks Jessica Sanchez to sing in Macau fight

MANILA, Philippines – American Idol Season 11 finalist Jessica Sanchez has been chosen to sing the National Anthem at the boxing match between Filipino Manny Pacquiao and American Brandon Rios, happening on Sunday, November 24, at the Cotai Arena of The Venetian Hotel in Macau.
Pacquiao asked the Sanchez through his Twitter account on November 19, if she would "do me the honor of singing the national anthems before our fight?"
Sanchez said yes, adding she would be honored. The entertainer's mother is a Filipina while her father is Mexican American.
Pacquiao told the singer in jest there was "no weigh-in required" for her participation in the event.

This is not the first time Sanchez would be singing for a Pacquiao match. In June 2012, the American Idol top 2 finalist sang the American National Anthem for Pacquiao's match against Timothy Bradley, where the Pinoy boxer suffered his first loss since 2005.
