Ian Somerhalder kisses Nina Dobrev! Best moments of the People's Choice Awards
BIG MOMENT. Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev's kiss tops stories about the People's Choice Awards
MANILA, Philippines – With this year's People's Choice Awards all wrapped up, everyone's talking about the highlights of the evening. These are some of the standouts:
Ian Somerhalder kisses Nina Dobrev, it's not awkward
Vampire Diaries fans lost it when Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder were announced the winners of the Favorite On-Screen Chemistry award. Ian, who also won the award for Favorite Sci-fi/Fantasy TV Actor, planted a big kiss on Nina's cheek in celebration. The crowd went wild.
"It's a good thing it's not awkward!" joked Nina, feigning embarrassment, then grinning. "Well, it's a good thing we've got chemistry!"
The co-stars, whose characters on the show are an on-again, off-again pair, were a real-life couple, but called it quits last year.
Britney's on a roll this year
In a sophisticated minidress, Britney Spears collected the award for Favorite Pop Artist. Taking the advice she gave in her song "Work B*tch," Britney had a great 2013, releasing new music and headlining her own show in Las Vegas.
"This is so cool!" squealed Britney, sounding thrilled and not unlike her teen self in 1998, when she came out with her first major hit, "Baby One More Time."
Jennifer Hudson's moment
Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson got emotional after winning the Favorite Humanitarian award.
Standing tall in a gorgeous white gown, the singer said that she wanted to show others that despite one's rough past, it was possible to succeed beyond expectation.
Jennifer's mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew were murdered in 2008, and it is in the memory of her young nephew that Jennifer started the Julian D. King Gift Foundation.
2 Broke Girls hosts are hilarious
The co-hosts for the evening, 2 Broke Girls' Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings, are already racking up comparisons to another famous hosting duo, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
"She's the Hathaway, I'm the Franco," said Dennings, referring to actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco, who hosted the 2011 Oscars. James was blasted for his uninterested, flat demeanor, while critics felt that Anne overcompensated for her co-host.
The saucy, sassy actresses entertained with an opening skit featuring the night's nominees, including last year's host, The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco. – Rappler.com
