MANILA, Philippines - It's been a long ride, but now it's time to say goodbye.

Love it or hate it, How I Met Your Mother has become a big part of our generation – so much so that it's even getting a spin-off called 'How I Met Your Dad'! There are very few people who would not be able to recognize the familiar whistle of the opening sequence and even fewer than those are people who have never heard any of the show's catchphrases used in everyday conversation.

However, all things must come to an end, and on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, the final episode of the series was aired in the United States to mixed reviews from viewers.

Whether you root for team yellow umbrella or team blue french horn, there are things everyone will miss now that it's all said and done. Here's a look back at the best parts of the series' run:
