18 DAYS AFTER, DOLPHY is doing better but is still in critical condition. Screen grab from YouTube
MANILA, Philippines - "Dolphy's reflexes are back."
This was Dr. Eric Nubla's first statement at the press conference on June 27, Wednesday, on the medical status of king of comedy Dolphy. Dr. Nubla is the director of Makati Medical Center's patient relations department.
It has been 18 days since Dolphy was rushed to the hospital on June 9 for complications arising from his COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and pneumonia.
Dr. Nubla said that Dolphy is still undergoing blood transfusion to help with the circulation of his blood; he is also still undergoing dialysis.
"The doctors are addressing problems as they arise," said Dr. Nubla. "That goes to show that things are under control."
Dolphy no longer has pneumonia but still has an infection whose source or cause his doctors have yet to find.
"He is lucid," said Dr. Nubla. "Dolphy is still critical although stable."
Dolphy's wife Zsazsa Padilla posted this image in Facebook, asking for more prayers from his fans.
