MANILA, Philippines – "I suffer from short term memory loss," a baby blue tang adorably stutters. Yes, it's definitely Dory.
In a new clip from Finding Dory released on June 20, Monday (June 21, Tuesday in Manila), we get a glimpse of Dory as a young (still forgetful) fish. Here, her parents Charlie (Eugene Levy) and Jenny (Diane Keaton) try to teach her how to make friends with other young fishes – by playing hide and seek. While the adult Dory is voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, the little Dory is brought to life by 7-year-old Sloane Murray. (READ: 'Finding Dory': 10 things you didn't know)
As she counts 1 to 10, she gets distracted quickly. "I like sand. Sand is squishy," she says, before she gets drawn by the sight of other young blue tangs playing.
Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo, features vignettes just like this, as Dory picks up fragments of her childhood memories – way before she met the clownfish father-and-son duo Marlin and Nemo.
