MANILA, Philippines – Actress and comedian Elizabeth Ramsey, 83, the mother of singer Jaya, suffered a stroke on Thursday, August 6.

On Facebook, Jaya asked for prayers for her mother.

"August 6, 2015, my mama had a stroke today, I'm at my saddest but still praise God for He is in control!!! Please if you can, say a little prayer for my dearest mother. Thank you."

On Friday, August 7, she thanked those who prayed for them and promise to give an update on her condition.

“Thank you to all of you who prayed for Mama Beth. God bless all of you and will update you soon of her condition, but I promise you, prayers really work!!!! God be praised for his mercy,” she wrote.

According to a report from ABS-CBN, Elizabeth is currently confined at the Philippine Heart Center. – Rappler.com
