PHOTO RECAP: Stars light up FAMAS Awards 2015

MANILA, Philippines – It was a night celebrating the best of the Philippine movie industry, looking back at iconic stars and celebrating their storied careers, while looking forward to a new generation of talented actors.

The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards were held Sunday, September 20, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila. (READ: FULL LIST: Winners, FAMAS Awards 2015)
Let's take a look at some of the evening's highlights:

Actresses Susan Roces,Gloria Romero, Nora Aunor, Maricel Soriano, Dawn Zulueta, and Sarah Geronimo received their distinctions as "Iconic Movie Queens of Philippine Cinema.

The honorees were later serenaded by Kuh Ledesma and The Voice Kids 2 finalist Esang de Torres.

TV veterans and popular, if sometimes controversial, stars Joey De Leon, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto received their FAMAS Lifetime Achievement Award, too, and also cheerfully watched the musical tributes performed in their honor.
Luke Mijares, Mitoy Yonting, Edgar Allan Guzman and Toni Gonzaga performed some of this classic hits such as "Iskul Bukol" and parody songs they made.
At one point, Joey de Leon sang "God Gave Me You," after receiving their trophy.

German Moreno presented this year's Youth Achievement Awards to various young stars from ABS-CBN, GMA 7, and TV 5. This year's recipients are Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Mark Neumann, Robi Domingo, Sofia Andres, Diego Loyzaga, Kiko Estrada, Kim Rodriguez, Nadine Lustre, Miguel Tanfelix, and Bianca Umali.
Sam Concepcion led a performance in tribute to the '80s movie Bagets.
Pops Fernandez, Richard Gutierrez and Jodi Sta Maria were this year's hosts as well. Richard received a special award as Face of the Night with Toni Gonzaga.
