IN PHOTOS: Family, friends remember Francis Magalona on 51st birthday
MANILA, Philippines – Six years after his death, family and friends remembered the late Francis Magalona (fondly known as Francis M) on his birthday. The rapper would have turned 51 years old on October 4.
Francis M died on March 2009 after battling leukemia. The son of film legends Pancho Magalona and Tita Duran, Francis is known as the master rapper of the country and started his career in showbiz in the movie Bagets before pursuing music. Some of Francis M’s well known songs include “Mga Kababayan Ko,” “Cold Summer Nights,” Kaleidoscope World,” “Ito Ang Gusto Ko,” and more.

Kilala sya ng karamihan bilang makabayan na Master Rapper. Kilala sya ng marami bilang artista at host. Kilala ko sya bilang mayabang at maangas na kuya na isip bata na sobrang mapagmahal sa pamilya. Sya yung tipong tatawag ng sobrang aga, (kahit alam nya na ayaw na ayaw ko na ginigising ako) para lang sabihin na may bago syang game sa PSP. Sya yung tipong magsasabi na "pagsampa natin, siguradong sasabog puso ng mga yan! (referring to the audience)" without sounding cocky kasi alam nya na totoo. Sya yung tipong magkukuwento kung gaano sya kamasunurin sa misis nya at kung gaano sya kabilib sa mga anak nya, tapso diretso sa kwento tungkol sa gusto nyang gulpihin dahil inangasan yung isang anak nya. Sya lang din ang tanging nakapag-sabi sa akin sa buong buhay ko na "Sorry mo mukha mo" nung nagalit sya sa akin! Hahahaha! (Pero nag-sorry din sya after) Kilala ko sya bilang kaibigan. On Saturday, Elmo Magalona and brother Arkin performed as the opening act in Eat Bulaga. The show paid tribute to Francis in the "Bulaga Pa More" segment. Nino Alejandro won the contest, which was judged by Elmo.
