Claudine Barretto responds to bashers over AlDub Instagram post

MANILA, Philippines – Claudine Barretto professed her love for the AlDub tandem last Saturday, October 24, but a number of her Instagram followers didn't approve of her support.
The actress posted a picture of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub (played by Maine Mendoza) at Eat Bulaga's "Sa Tamang Panahon" event last Saturday, with the caption "Love u Aldub! #aldubfan."
Many social media users criticized Claudine for supporting the AlDub tandem, whose segment airs in ABS-CBN's rival network, GMA. They called for her to respect ABS-CBN by not publicly supporting their rival, and some asked her to take the photo down too.
Claudine recently returned to showbiz – and to projects associated with ABS-CBN in particular, after some time off. She starred in Etiquette for Mistresses, a Star Cinema film, opposite Kris Aquino and Kim Chiu in September and appeared on an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK). Star Cinema is owned by ABS-CBN, and the MMK episode aired on the same day that she posted the AlDub photo.
In response to the comments on her photo, Claudine posted a series of comments, apologizing to those who aren't fans of AlDub and explaining that she and her children like the tandem.
(Sorry to those who don't like AlDub, but we all have people we admire. AlDub makes my children happy, and as a parent, it makes me happy and I am touched that my children can learn good things from the couple. Respect the decisions of each person. Thank you and God bless.)

When the comments kept coming, she defended herself by saying that true fans shouldn't be afraid to tell people and fight for their idols. She reiterated that it makes her happy that the tandem makes her children happy.
(To those who aren't fans of AlDub, I'm sorry if I hurt you. But a true fan isn't afraid to let people know and to fight for their idols. I didn't say anything wrong about anyone. It just makes me happy that they make my children happy. I never meant to hurt any one of you. I'm sorry but let's respect each other. God bless you all.)
She finished by thanking those who defended her.
