MMFF 2015 movies hit P271 million mark
MANILA, Philippines – The 8 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movies have earned a total of P271 million as of Saturday, December 26, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Emerson Carlos told Rappler on Sunday.
The movies were all released on December 25. Carlos said through text that the film festival entries grossed P150 million on the first day.
Last year's 8 MMFF movies earned only P182 million together on the second day.
Carlos also said that, this year, the Top 4 movies in terms of box office earnings are, in no particular order, Haunted Mansion, My Bebe Love, Beauty and the Bestie, and All You Need is Pag-ibig.
The film fest committee did not give a breakdown of the figures for each of the participating movies.
Held every Christmas season, the Metro Manila Film Festival showcases films starring today's most popular stars. The Parade of Stars was held on December 23, while the awards night is set for December 27. – Rappler.com
