Nora Aunor on dear friend Kuya Germs, continuing his work
MANILA, Philippines – Superstar Nora Aunor said that it's very hard for her accept that her good friend German "Kuya Germs" Moreno is gone.
In an interview with reporters after Kuya Germs' funeral at the Loyola Memorial in Marikina, Nora said that she initially could not believe that he had died. Kuya Germs died last January 8 due to cardiac arrest. (WATCH: German 'Kuya Germs' Moreno laid to rest)
(He’s gone. I could not believe it. I was arguing with other people because I was insisting he was alive and that it was not true he died. But when I talked to someone close to Kuya Germs, Jojo, I called and he said there was no more blood pressure but that he was still alive.)
Nora said that his death is a great loss to the industry.
(He’s a great loss to the industry. First of all, Kuya Germs is like family to me. When I have problems he’s always there, when I cry. He was there for my kids and he took care of Ian.)
During her speech at his funeral, Nora expressed her intention to continue Kuy Germs' work by taking on the hosting duties in his show Walang Tulugan with The Master Showman, and his radio program. (READ: John Nite: 'It will never be the same without Kuya Germs')
(...I know that he didn't want the show to end because that's how he would help younger artists, those who were just starting out, and he wholeheartedly wanted to help them work and grow in the industry.)
While they didn't always agree about everything in the past, Nora said that if there's one thing about Kuya Germs is that he doesn't hold a grudge.
"Lahat-lahat ng kagandahan ng puso ng tao ay masasabi ko nasa kanya, nasa buong pagkatao niya at hindi na mawawala sa kanya iyon," she said.
(He has all the qualities of a good man and that will never disappear.)
During the funeral. Nora said Kuya Germs will always be in her heart.
(Kuya Germs, we'll see each other up there. That's how important you are. And I won't think that you're gone, you're still here in the hearts of many, and most especially, you are here in my heart.) – Rappler.com
