MANILA, Philippines – American Idol signed off its final season with many performances by its past contestants, and among them were Filipino-American singer Jessica Sanchez. (READ: Highlights: 'American Idol' ends with star-studded finale)
Jessica, who placed second in the 11th season of the singing competition, ended a medley of songs that started with Katherine McPhee and Casey James' cover of Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now."
In the video above, Jessica starts off quietly at around the 4:35 mark. She croons the opening notes of Celine Dion's "The Prayer" on a dark stage, with a single spotlight directed at her.
Soon, she has the crowd cheering as she belts out the rest of the song and the lights reveal the other performers onstage with her.
As the video ends, you can spot season 15's 3 judges, Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban, giving the performance a standing ovation.
The 15th and final season of American Idol saw Trent Harmon, who hails from Mississipi, as the winner. La'Porsha Renae finished second, while Dalton Rapattoni placed 3rd.
The finale was held at the Dolby Theatre on April 7 (April 8 in the Philippines).
