MANILA, Philippines – Stewart, the corgi who played Captain Ray Holt (Andre Braugher)'s dog Cheddar on the hit police live-action sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has died, his owners said in an Instagram post.
The 13-year-old pup went to the beach and "frolicked in the surf and then enjoyed a picnic lunch of In & Out burgers" before "[sleeping] peacefully in [his owner's] arms while listening to the sounds of the ocean" with the help of his veterenarian, said his owners on Stewart and sister Stella's Instagram account.
"He was a one in a million kind of dog, he was my supaah staah," his owners noted.
Cheddar has been played by several different dogs since first appearing in the show's first season, noted Entertainment Weekly. But it's Stewart who has played the role the longest.
"Stewart is not big on play, as far as toys and whatnot; Stewart is all about food. Food is what makes Stewart tick," his trainer had told EW. – Rappler.com
