BERLIN, Germany – A private jet flying U2 frontman Bono lost a hatch over Berlin, but no one was hurt and the plane landed safely, German media reported on Thursday, November 13.
The plane, arriving from Dublin on Wednesday, night landed at Berlin-Schoenefeld airport, with the Irish singer turned activist expected for Germany's Bambi Awards ceremony. Other members of U2 arrived separately, reported the Berliner Zeitung.
An airport spokesman quoted by Germany's DPA news agency said the hatch released for an unknown reason and was later located on the tarmac.
"To our knowledge, there was no risk of a crash," the spokesman said, though an investigation had been opened. – Rappler.com
