Nora Aunor, Aga Muhlach leave TV5
MANILA, Philippines – After Sharon Cuneta, two other big stars left TV5 - Nora Aunor and Aga Muhlach.
According to a report by Pep, executives of TV5, headed by president and CEO Noel Lorenzana and Entertainment head Wilma Galvante, explained the reason behind the exit of Nora and Aga.
“Yung kay Ate Guy (Nora), nag-expire na talaga yung contract niya... (With Ate Guy, her contract already expired.)
Gusto din naman niya talaga yung film, (she really loves film) more independent films,” Galvante said.
Galvante also said that in the course of her contract with the station, they saw that the actress was more in favor of doing films, leading to the decision not to renew the contract.
As for Aga, Galvante said: "In the case naman of Aga, it’s also a business decision for the network because of the re-programming also that was going to happen. So, we were offering him sana muna program contracts for the year.
Pero parang hindi din muna comfortable si Aga doon and we respect that. (But Aga is not comfortable with that, and we respect that.)”
Lorenzana meanwhile said that they were saddened by Sharon Cuneta's decision to leave the station early.
“Malungkot kasi may pinagsamahan din kami. (We're sad because we did have a good relationship with her.)
“Pero in the end, I believe, you know, any endeavor that you go through, you have to work for win-win situation that all entities, actually, will find their peace, to find their picture.
"So, I think, hindi naman ano... things will turn out good.”
Last August, Sharon confirmed that she is no longer with TV5. The actress has yet to appear in public following the death of her mother Elaine Cuneta last November.
