Project Headshot Clinic: a new way to raise environmental awareness
MANILA, Philippines – A wonderful picture and its subject can shine light on important topics and even inspire reflection and action. This was the thinking behind Project Headshot Clinic, which is the brainchild of photographer Niccolo Cosme. The concept involves capturing key subjects and highlighting their personal advocacies and contribution to the cause, with the goal to inspire the environmental ambassador in everyone.
Project Headshot Clinic will be working with the Climate Change Commission and the pageant organizers to strengthen the advocacy through a partnership and a headshot petition campaign called Project Earth – a digital campaign that utilizes headshots as a way to promote environmental awareness.
Personalities coming from different industries are chosen to participate in this headshot clinic to become Project Earth ambassadors. They will be posting their digitized profile photos in their social media accounts.
Among them are: Tessa Prieto-Valdez, Tim Yap, Rajo Laurel, Liz Uy, Laureen Uy, Francis Libiran, Mayor Pie Alvarez of San Vicente Palawan, Sec. Mary Ann Lucille Sering of Climate Change Commission, Elmo Magalona, Maxene Magalona, Sam YG, Robby Carmona, Suki Salvador, and Vince Uy, among others.
The Project Earth Ambassadors will also be voicing out their own initiatives on how they can help our planet, one small act at a time, and encourage other netizens to follow suit.
The project supports Miss Teen Earth Philippines and Little Miss Earth Philippines, which are now in search of young Filipina beauties with a purpose.
Pageant organizers are set to hold a nationwide search for the title holders with the aim to promote environmental awareness and foster change.
According to the website, Little Miss Earth candidates will range from 4 to 9 years old at the time of application, while Miss Teen Earth candidates will range from age 13 to 17.
Pre-screening begins February 2014 nationwide and the grand pageant night will be on May 27, 2014 at SM MOA-Arena. – Rappler.com
