MANILA, Philippines – Nike’s collaboration with Off-White founder and designer Virgil Abloh has created quite a stir, and understandably so. The designer, who was nominated for a Grammy for his art direction on Kanye West and Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne, has now worked his magic on 10 key Nike sneakers.
The collection, aptly named The Ten, is split into two themes: “Revealing” and “Ghosting.”
Revealing
The theme features Abloh’s reconstructions of the Air Jordan I, Nike Air Max 90, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air VaporMax, and Nike Blazer Mid.

“What we're talking about here is larger than sneakers, it’s larger than design culture. It’s nothing short of state-of-the-art design.” Abloh said in a Nike news release. “These 10 shoes have broken barriers in performance and style. To me, they are on the same level as a sculpture of David or the Mona Lisa. You can debate it all you want, but they mean something. And that’s what’s important.”
The Ten will be released in full in November, at NikeLab stores and select retailers around the world.
Ahead of the full collection launch, a pre-release of the first five shoes – the Air Jordan I, Nike Blazer, Nike Air Presto, Nike Air Max 90, and Nike Air VaporMax – will be done throughout September in NikeLab stores in selected international cities: New York City on September 9 to 13, London on September 18 to 22, Milan on September 21 to 25, and Paris on September 26 to 30. – Rappler.com
