MANILA, Philippines – Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach arrived early Saturday morning, July 16, to discuss the possible Philippine hosting of the next Miss Universe pageant with President Rodrigo Duterte.

Wurtzbach is set to meet with Duterte in Malacañang on Monday afternoon, July 18.

On Friday, July 15, Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo confirmed in a press statement that the President has "approved in principle" her department's proposal for the Philippines to host the next Miss Universe pageant. (READ: Duterte 'approves in principle' plans to host Miss Universe in PH – DOT)

During her Live Facebook chat on July 12, Wurtzbach hinted that she will be coming back "very soon" and that she's hoping that the next Miss Universe pageant will be held in Manila.

DOT Undersecretary Kat de Castro earlier confirmed this month that Teo met with the executives of the Miss Universe Organization – led by its president Paula Shugart – about the possibility of the Philippines hosting the pageant. – Rappler.com
