MANILA, Philippines - Following recent reports on Vine, which has taken steps to police its content to keep the system clean of pornography and avoid removal from Apple's listings, it seems Apple is helping apps suffering from unintended porn issues to return to the iOS App Store.
Photo-sharing application 500px announced its return to the iOS App Store after working "with Apple over the last week to address their requests while maintaining the highest quality user experience our community expects."
The development team sent in a revised version of the 500px app for review, which passed, allowing it to return to the App Store.
Some of the changes they announced as a result of their talks with Apple include the tagging of adult content to make it harder to access by accident, making changes to searching in response to Apple's search filtering request, and new features that make reporting certain types of content easier.
TechCrunch notes the addition of an age-gate warning for content, as well as a report photo button.
"We are committed to the highest standards for our photographic community and have strict policies and procedures in place to ensure we adhere to them,” said 500px CEO Oleg Gutsol. “We’re working in partnership with Apple to provide the highest quality enhancements to our app." - Rappler.com
