Taiwan offers free WiFi to tourists
MANILA, Philippines - Tourists seeing the sights of Taiwan will have a lot more to enjoy during their downtime as they can now use free WiFi connectivity virtually anywhere in Taiwan.
Announced by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, the Taiwan government and local government agencies have prepared about 4,400 "iTaiwan" WiFi hotspots. These hotspots, the announcement states, are located "at major tourist spots, transportation hubs, cultural establishments, and government offices all over the island."
To use the new service, tourists can apply for a free iTaiwan account by presenting their passport at a Taiwan Tourism Bureau service counter or visitor centor. After the account is set up, users can go online on their devices or computers at any of the hotspots that have been set up.
Tourists simply need to enter the "iTaiwan" SSID then input the account number and password for instant access. - Rappler.com
