Lea Salonga registers as overseas PH voter in New York

MANILA, Philippines – Multi-awarded Filipina singer and actress Lea Salonga has filed her overseas voter (OV) application at the Philippine Consulate General in New York City, where will perform as lead in Broadway musical Allegiance.
The deadline to register to vote in the 2016 Philippine elections is October 31, both inside and outside of the country.
She said in a Tweet that registering was "super easy."

Lea is expected to remain in New York until June because of her Broadway musical. Allegiance centers around the story of a Japanese family during World War II sent to an internment camp after Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor. The musical will open on November 8.
