Heavy rain triggers flash floods in metro
MANILA, Philippines - Heavy predawn rain triggered flash floods, rendering some roads impassable and forcing schools to suspend classes and rail services to be cancelled in parts of Metro Manila on Saturday, September 15.
The floods also caused traffic jams, particularly along the Skyway southbound section near Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The commuter service of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) was cancelled shortly after 5 am, the PNR said on Twitter.

A number of stations of the Light Rail Transit lines 1 and 2 are also flooded.
Weather bureau PAGASA issued a red warning indicating intense to torrential rainfall at 4.30 am.

It later issued a similar warning at 7.30 am.

The water level of the Marikina River rose to 15.18 m, close to the first evacuation level of 17 m.
