19 Davao blast victims remain in hospital
MANILA, Philippines – Twelve days after a deadly blast at the Roxas Night Market, 19 victims of the explosion remain confined in 6 different hospitals across Davao City
According to records from the City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO), 10 of these 19 patients are being treated at the Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC). Five are at San pedro Hospital, two are at Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF), one is at Brokenshire Hospital, another is at Davao Doctors Hospital, and one is at Ricardo Limso Hospital.
At least 15 were killed in the September 3 explosion, with the latest victim being Vicenta Asperin, a woman who was 6 months pregenant..
Of the 19 remaining wounded, one patient – Julius Gallardo – remains in intensive care. The others have been transferred to hospital rooms, though one of the victims, Junaib Usman, was transferred to a private room in Ricardo Limso Hospital due to an intestinal surgery.
CSSDO chief Ma. Luisa Bermudo said Davao's city government will keep extending financial assistance to the bomb victims, with hospital watchers also given allowances for 20 days. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), meanwhile, will shoulder the victims' hospital bills, as well as any additional medical expenses. – Rappler.com
