MANILA, Philippines – Presidential aide Bong Go read out "Queen of All Media" Kris Aquino's message to him about Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson during a press conference on Wednesday, June 6.
Go said he received the message sometime between 8:30 pm and 11:50 pm, while he, President Rodrigo Duterte, and the Philippine delegation were on a plane bound for Manila from Seoul.
He read the message out to reporters during the press briefing being aired live by various networks.
Here's what Go read out:
Bong, this is Kris Aquino. I am personally reaching out. We have been friends and my heart wants to believe you still have a soft spot for me. I will understand if you snub me because sino naman ako, pero sinaktan talaga ang puso ko sa ginawa ni Mocha (who am I anyway, but my heart was hurt by what Mocha did).
Alam mo, never ako nagsalita o nag-post ng anything against PRRD (President Rodrigo Roa Duterte) dahil marunong ako rumespeto. Sana huwag lang ang mom at dad ko dahil nananahimik na sila sa langit. (You know I never spoke or posted anything against PRRD because I know how to show respect. I hope my mom and dad could be spared because they are already in peace, in heaven.)
Go then stopped himself from reading the next part of the message as it would seem "political": "May sinabi pa siya rito, pero 'di na, pulitika na ito eh, sabihin ko pa ba?" (She said something more here, but never mind, this is about politics already, do I have to announce this?)
At the prompting of a reporter, he eventually read it out too:
Alam mo I will even campaign for you because I believe in you, but why leave the President? Why leave Malacañang? Baka ahas lang ang gustong kunin ang posisyon mo. (You know I will even campaign for you because I believe in you, but why leave the President? Why leave Malacañang? Maybe a snake will want to take your position.)
Go again denied he wants to run for senator, but thanked Aquino for the expression of support.
The aide had read Aquino's message to Duterte, prompting the President to instruct Go to tell the influential media personality, "We are sorry for the incident."
Go did as he was told, prompting Aquino to post about it on social media.
