P1 billion worth of shabu seized in Malabon warehouse

MANILA, Philippines – Authorities seized methamphetamine (shabu) worth P1 billion in a Malabon warehouse.
In a statement on Friday, May 24, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said they seized 146 kilograms (kg) of shabu inside a certain Goldwin Commercial Warehouse in Barangay Santolan in Malabon City.
The PDEA, along with operatives from the Bureau of Customs, the Philippine National Police, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and the Philippine Coast Guard found the illegal drugs packed in 114 bags inside aluminum pallets.
According to PDEA chief Director General Aaron Aquino, he believed the illegal drugs came from Cambodia, and was managed by the Golden Triangle drug syndicate.
The PDEA said the billion-peso-worth of shabu was connected to their operations in Dasmariñas, Cavite on February 13, where they found P244 million worth of shabu, and in Tanza, Cavite on February 3, where they seized shabu worth P1.9 billion. – Rappler.com
