PDEA-led team seizes P4.4M worth of marijuana plants in Toledo City

CEBU CITY, Philippines – Authorities seized around P4.4 million worth of marijuana plants at 6:30 pm in Toledo City, Cebu, on Wednesday, June 26.
“Three cultivators were able to elude arrest when they sensed the team approaching the uphill terrain,” the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Central Visayas said in a Facebook post.

The team uprooted “approximately 11,000 fully-grown marijuana plants” in Purok 3, Barangay Tungkay, which is about 28 kmeters away from Cebu City.
“Representative samples of the uprooted marijuana were submitted to PDEA 7 laboratory while the rest were burned on-site,” PDEA Central Visayas said. (READ: Legalizing medical marijuana: 'Listen to patients’)
