Twin bombings in Basilan

ZAMBOANGA, Philippines - Two explosions occurred in Lamitan City, Basilan Thursday night, April 18, police said.

A bomb exploded outside the residence of Lamitan Vice Mayor Arleigh Eisma at around 9pm Thursday. Another explosion occurred outside a barangay chapel in the same city, police added. Eisma is running for mayor in the May elections.

As of posting, authorities could not determine if people were hurt in the two incidents. - Rappler.com
