Homeless man hit by MRT train
MANILA, Philippines - Operation of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT) were limited Sunday morning, June 2, after one of their trains hit a homeless man.
The homeless man was hit by one of the MRT trains between the Magallanes and Taft stations around 5 am, MRT general manager Al Vitangcol III told radio dzBB and dzMM in separate interviews.
The incident forced the system to limit operations from the North Avenue to Shaw stations only, the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) said in its official Twitter account.
As of posting time, the DOTC said the body of the unidentified man is still on the tracks, and there is no word yet from the MRT when full operations will resume.
