MANILA, Philippines - One person died in a grenade explosion in Lamitan City, Basilan on Wednesday morning, July 17.

The explosion involved a fragmentation grenade, which was set off at the house of Reynaldo delos Santos in Barangay Matibay at past 5 am.

The fatality was identified as Sapiya Mansul. Mansul is the wife of a barangay captain from Sibago Island in Mohammad Adjul town.

Delos Santos' wife, Sonia, was also injured in the explosion.
