Bomb threat disrupts classes, work in Miriam College

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Classes and office work have been suspended in Miriam College in Quezon City at 2 pm Thursday, October 9, due to a bomb threat.
All units have been shut down, said an official who requested not to be named. The source is not authorized to speak to media.
According to an employee of Miriam College, students and employees from elementary to college were asked to leave the campus Thursday afternoon.
After inspection of the Philippine National Police bomb squad, all academic units and campus grounds were cleared of any bomb threat as of 4 pm Thursday, Miriam College said in a statement posted on the school's Facebook page.
For the past months, bomb threats have prompted class suspensions in various schools. On October 2, the Claret School also received a bomb threat but was cleared. (READ: Bomb threat prompts class suspensions in 2 QC schools)
Other schools that had received bomb threats in the past include Ateneo de Manila University, University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University (FEU) Manila, FEU Institute of Technology, San Beda College-Rizal, St Paul College-Pasig, and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. – Rappler.com
