Duterte still netizens' winner in Round 3 of Cebu presidential debate
MANILA, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte remains the winner among netizens in round 3 of the first part of the presidential debate in Cebu City on Sunday, March 20.
As in the previous two rounds, Duterte came out on top, getting 295 votes (68.6%) of the total 430 votes on the Rappler poll.
Former Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II came in at second place with 82 votes (19.07%), followed by Senator Grace Poe with 47 votes (10.93%), and Vice President Jejomar Binay with 6 votes (1.4%).
As in the previous polls on the Cebu debate, Duterte was the consistent winner, while Binay was the consistent 4th placer with single-digit figures.
In the first round of the segment, Poe came in at second place; Roxas edged ahead of her in the second round of the segment and maintained this in the 3rd round.
Senator Miriam Santiago was not present at the debate. She earlier announced she will be skipping the event to undergo a clinical trial for an anti-cancer pill.
The debate, the second in the series, was co-organized by the Commission on Elections, TV5, Philippine Star, Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, and University of the Philippines Cebu.
On the Rappler mood meter, a spike of Angry and Annoyed votes appeared during the exchange between Duterte and Roxas on the issue of fighting crime, with Duterte attacking Roxas and calling him an apologist of the administration. – Rappler.com
